Autism Acceptance Week – Sensory Wall

Today marks the beginning of Autism Acceptance week. This morning, some very lucky students got a preview of Ms Murray’s amazing new sensory wall which is proudly placed in our Nurture Room. Ms Murray’s experience as an art and SEN teacher inspired her to make this wonderful calming tool for students and we hope that this will give students an opportunity to engage with their senses (sight, sound and touch) .
The aim of the project was to give students the chance to pause and reset by receiving some sensory support to ensure that they feel calm and focused before returning to their classes.
This was a very small, simple idea which will make a huge difference in the lives of our students.
Well done Ms Murray. A lot of work went into this beautiful piece .
