Last Thursday marked a special milestone as our Sixth Year students enjoyed their final day in DLS.
The celebrations began with football in the morning, including a memorable Teachers vs Students match. A sincere thank you to Mr Renaghan for organising the sporting events and helping to make the day so enjoyable.
The boys then joined staff for lunch in the canteen. Many thanks to Joanne, Carmel, Millicent, Lisa and Rodney for their help with decorating and to our wonderful canteen staff for providing lunch.
Year Head Ms Campbell spoke to the students about their time in DLS, reflecting on the friendships, achievements and memories made along the way.
That evening, the Graduation Mass provided a fitting and meaningful celebration of the boys’ journey. Father Rushe led a beautiful ceremony, with students participating through singing and prayers before being presented with engraved medals.
A special thank you to Ms Mc Hale for organising the Mass and to the Music Department for the choir, whose contribution added so much to the occasion.
Mr Breen and Mr Mc Keon offered warm words and best wishes to the graduating class. Head Boy Alex O’Hagan delivered a thoughtful speech, reflecting on their experiences during Covid and how those challenges strengthened the bond within the year group.
PC Tutors Mr Bruton, Ms Cumiskey, Mr Davern, Ms Mc Grane , Mr Flanagan and Year Head Ms Campbell were also presented with gifts in appreciation of their support and dedication.
We wish all of our Sixth Years every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their journey.
