De La Salle College Celebrates Awards Night Honouring Classes of 2023 and 2024
De La Salle College held its annual Awards Night on Tuesday, 13th May, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the Leaving Certificate classes of 2023 and 2024.
As always, a wide array of accolades were presented to students in recognition of their academic excellence, leadership, and school spirit. Among the evening’s most prestigious honours was the  Brendan McCooey Memorial Senior Student of the Year Award, which was awarded to Philip  Hryhorchuk for 2023 and Tom Cunniffe for 2024.
The Best Leaving Cert Results Award went to  Finn Connolly  for 2023, while Alex Durnin and  Ciaran Cotter were joint recipients for 2024.
One of the college’s most esteemed recognitions, the Lasallian Spirit Award, was presented to  Niall Donnelly(2023) and Tom Cunniffe (2024), acknowledging their embodiment of the Lasallian values in school life.
The evening also marked the continuation of the George and Patricia Moore Scholarship Awards, inaugurated in 2009 by the late George Moore, a proud past pupil. These scholarships continue to be generously supported by the Moore family. For 2023, the recipients were  Finn Connolly (George Moore Scholarship) and Philip  Hryhorchuk  (Patricia Moore Scholarship). For 2024, the scholarships were awarded to Alex Durnin  and  Ciaran Cotter, (George Moore Scholarship) and  Cailim O’Donogh (Patricia Moore Scholarship).
The night concluded with an inspiring address from distinguished alumni William and Dylan McMahon, who offered valuable insights into their college experiences and professional journeys to date.
It was a memorable evening celebrating student excellence, shared memories, and the enduring spirit of De La Salle College.
